  • 1 russet of cut into sized strips potato
  • Salt
  • 1-quart vegetable oil
  1. Step 1:

    In a large bowl full of water, soak the potatoes for 30 minutes. Use paper towels to pat dry them. 

  2. Step 2:

    Heat the vegetable oil in a saucepan which is about 275 degrees Fahrenheit. You can also use deep-dryer if you have one. 

  3. Step 3:

    Add the potatoes gently into the hot oil. Fry, flip and stir the potatoes. Use a slotted spoon to remove the potatoes and drain to cool. 

  4. Step 4:

    Heat the oil again up to 350 degrees Fahrenheit now. Fry the potatoes for at least 5 minutes until they’re golden brown. Use a paper towel for blotting. 

  5. Step 5:

    Sprinkle salt then serve along with the crab cakes.
